"The important thing is not so much that every child should be taught, as that every child should be given the wish to learn."
Maria Montessori

Michael has both an encyclopedic knowledge of high school math and an unquenchable passion to impart the complexity and wonder of the natural world. His expertise in physics and mechanical engineering invites students to both appreciate how things work and to build solutions to real-world problems in creative ways. Michael’s volunteer efforts for the visually impaired and for the houseless inspire respect for all. And his abiding love of mountain biking means students find plenty of opportunities to keep moving.

Michael earned a vo-tech high school diploma in electronics, a Bachelor’s degree in news-editorial journalism from the University of Kansas, and a Master’s degree in the practice of teaching from Park University. His children are smarter than he is.
